Camden Town tube backed for expansion by overwhelming 97% of responding consultees

A proposed trebling in size of Camden town tube station has been given the support of almost all respondents to TfL’s recent public consultation on the issue, report City A.M.

The plans for the major redevelopment have been drawn up to accommodate an expected rise of 40% to one of London’s busiest stations already staggering 30m users per year. The congestion easing work has been projected to begin in 2021 and be complete by 2025/26

Managing Director of London Underground Mark Wild, had this to say:

“The modernisation of Camden Town station will positively impact the tens of thousands of customers who use it every day and will transform accessibility to this vibrant part of London.”

“We have seen fantastic support from the local community for our plans to make the station more spacious, comfortable and equipped to support the growing demand in the area.”
